Time-Saving Recipes: Ramen Foo Yung

3-ounce package ramen noodles

2 1/4-ounce “cup” of packaged ramen noodles with vegetables

2 eggs (substitute Teryaki-flavored jerky if eggs unavailable )

2-ounce package salted peanuts

1 single-serve packet soy sauce (check condiments bin)

In camp Boil three cups of water. Add both noodles and vegetables. Simmer uncovered for three minutes. Add seasoning and soy sauce, then eggs (or sprinkling of chopped jerky; hold the soy sauce to reduce salt). Stir quickly while eggs cook. Crush nuts for topping. Serves two.

Scenario You want to eat gourmet, but only have 10 minutes to shop.

Solution Alpine Pasta

2 4.4-ounce Knorr Butter & Herb pasta packets

4 ounces pepper-coated salami, diced

2 ounces sun-dried tomatoes

6 green onions, chopped

5 ounces Gruyère cheese, grated

In camp Boil a cup of water and pour it over tomatoes. In separate pot, cook pasta according to package instructions. While pasta simmers, chop softened tomatoes. After pasta cooks for five minutes, add all ingredients and stir until noodles are done. Serves two.
