Cooking while family camping means finding that sweet spot where it’s fun and easy for the kids, and adds to the adventure of being away from home. Having a yummy dessert is always a good idea, with kids or not. Packit Gourmet has a full lineup of meals that are perfect for delicious family meals. Our testers sampled a variety of trail meals with their children and unanimously voted the Diner Deluxe Scrambled Eggs combined with Cranberry Orange Griddle Scones the best breakfast they’d ever had on a campout.

The eggs are super easy to make, and the scones are skillet baked over a low flame, no special tools required. For dinner, the Chicken and Dumplings won out for its easy prep (just add hot water), but then imagine the astonishment around camp when our testers starting baking fresh cupcakes over their camp stove. And when the cupcakes were drizzled with hot fudge there was nearly a mob scene.

The two keys to this sweet treat are the delicious mix from Packit Gourmet, and their silicone baking set, which lets you steam bake (sort of like poaching an egg) all kinds of sinful delicacies like cupcakes and even molten chocolate lava cakes.
