Every stocking needs a sweet treat. But this year, skip the gold coins in favor of a Mt. Shasta Bar. Not only will your tongue love the chocolate from Guittard Chocolatiers (comes in milk or dark), but your conscience can rest easy knowing 100% of the company profits go directly to benefit trails in the Mt. Shasta area.

The bars have been a Mt Shasta community effort. Company owners Michael and Joe Wirth asked local jeweler Jon Thomas to create a moldd epicting the iconic mountain, encircled in designs by local artist Wesley Cooke. The wrapper features a photo of the peak by local photographer Kevin Lahey. Community members participated in a taste test to choose the variety of dark chocolate. And all over town, merchants sell the bars with pride. In 10 years the project has raised over $100,000 in support of area trails.
