Normally we wouldn’t recommend trying to save money on a helmet. But this full-coverage lid offers maximum protection at a sweet price, so why not? It’s made of a polycarbonate shell with shock-absorbing foam that extends down the back and sides of your head to protect from all directions against falling rock and ice.
“Despite the extra protection, the 360 never restricted my movement or vision,” says our tester. Plus, it has decent airflow for year-round use, but not so many vents that testers got cold on winter ascents. The fit adjusts via a glove-friendly dial; and you can further customize it with adjustable EVA foam pads. Comes with headlamp clips and a storage bag. $55; 12 oz.; wildcountry.co.uk
