Backpacking anglers need the basic functions of a multitool, plus a few fish-specific ones. The Flik Fish has longer-than-average needle-nose pliers (for removing hooks), a grooved file (for sharpening barbs), wire cutters to slice heavy lines, scissors to nip fine ones, and a 3.5-inch blade for cleaning your catch.
Key feature: The pliers deploy with a one-handed flick, so one Idaho tester was able to hold a feisty, wriggling trout in one hand, and still snap open the pliers to remove the hook with the other. Bummer: weight. $90; 9.8 oz. (with holster); gerbergear.com
