Did you throw out your aluminum cookware after hearing reports linking the mineral to Alzheimer’s disease? Well, now the National Institutes of Health reports that there was no reason to toss your pots. Research has shown that only a tiny amount of aluminum from cookware is released into food, and aluminum does not cause the dreaded disease anyway. But how about those flakes from the fry pan’s nonstick coating? No worries here either. According to researchers, these materials are inert, and pass harmlessly through the body.
