There’s no predicting nature, and on our annual gear testing trips around the world, our staff has had to deal with everything from freak storms to bitter cold to ski injuries. Videographer Matt Coddaire found that out the hard way on an Editors’ Choice trip to New Zealand’s Whanganui River, when the canoe he was paddling capsized in a whirlpool. Luckily, his action cam captured it all.
