Endangered Mexican wolves have Midwestern allies: Zoologists at Brookfield Zoo and St. Louis Zoo are using artificial insemination to help improve genetic diversity in the recovering wolf population. About 150 Mexican wolves are living in the wild, up from just seven animals in the ’70s.
