Woman Rescued From Sandwich Mountain

Party attempted descent, called 911 due to slow progress

Officers from the New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game rescued a woman from Sandwich Mountain in New Hampshire’s Waterville Valley June 23. The woman, a resident of Needham, Massachusetts, was hiking with friends when she injured her ankle shortly after reaching the summit. The party attempted to descend, but called 911 due to their slow progress. Officials say the party was adequately prepared for the conditions.
