Winter Park Announces $28 Million in Upgrades for Next Winter

The ski resort will build a higher-capacity gondola and improve its snowmaking technology.

Winter Park Resort will be $28 millon’s worth nicer next winter: The ski resort announced this week it would replace its current four-person gondola with a 10-person version from base to summit, which should reduce lift lines and increase uphill capacity to 3,600 skiers per hour (versus 2,600 now). The resort will also upgrade its snowmaking equipment in an effort to open more terrain longer.
