Washington’s state parks received a last-minute reprieve from Governor Jay Inslee’s office late Thursday: The governor’s office asked the parks to stay open Friday, though they had been preparing to shut down after lawmakers failed to finalize a state budget. If lawmakers don’t agree on a budget by Saturday, July 1, the state will go into a partial shutdown.
