Late-winter storm systems are blanketing the Sierra with fresh snow for the next few days, dumping a predicted 1 to 3 feet at elevations above 3,000 feet and 5 feet at mountain passes. Meteorologists say the snow could continue through Saturday; avalanche forecasters are warning of high risk in the Central Sierra, including Lake Tahoe.
