A recent graduate, Matthew Salah, got very lucky this week after he slipped into Angel Falls while taking a photo on a hiking trip. Salah went over two cascades before a dead tree stopped his descent; he was able to pull himself out of the river, but was injured enough to need rescue from Madera County SAR.Â
