Officials confirmed at least two cases of rabies in animals near the Superstition Mountains last week, following increasing reports of dead and aggressive wildlife in the area. Rabies could affect bobcats, raccoons, bats, skunks, foxes, and coyotes in Lost Dutchman State Park, First Water Trail, and the Tonto National Forest. Hikers are warned to stay away from all wildlife and not to camp without a tent.
