Arizona Prairie Dog Tests Positive for Plague

The body of a northern Arizona prairie dog tested positive for plague in late July, according to the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Plague, which is carried by infected fleas, poses a risk to the rabbit, rodent, squirrel, and prairie dog populations in the area–and can infect people too.
