The summit of the Fourteener Mt. Bierstadt is a happening place: According to the Forest Service, an average of 28 people at a time can be found there on the weekends. These growing crowds are also overwhelming the parking lot. USFS officials are now in the early stages of considering measures to alleviate the crowding, including instituting a permit system and starting an environmental analysis.
