Hike to views of the Mary Decker Shoals rapids area on this 24-mile shuttle hike along the Eleven Point River section of the Ozark Trail. You’ll also visit lookouts just west of McCormack Lake and Bockman Spring (15 miles), where the water flows through a cave once used as a food cellar. Look for yellow Missouri primrose, black-eyed Susans, and purple coneflowers when crossing the glade clearings. Find primitive campsites and vault toilets at Greer Recreation Area (6 miles), or take a spur trail at the 8.7-mile point and hike a mile to the McCormack Lake Recreation Area, which also has water. Camping is permitted along the trail on Forest Service land. Ticks are common; take precautions.
