A 111-acre parcel of land bordering Angeles National Forest at Big Tujunga Canyon in Los Angeles will become public open space after a coalition of conservation and state groups bought it for $4.4 million. The plot, considered important wildlife habitat, had been threatened by housing development proposals in recent years.
