First reported a few days ago, the story of a climbing accident on Mount Baker has gotten more unfortunate detail: one victim, Air Force Maj. Mario Cooper, did not survive his fall into a crevasse. Cooper’s climbing partner, whose name was not released, is expected to survive. The two men were on Sholes Glacier, near Coleman Pinnacle, when they apparently slipped.
