Take in views of the Franconia, Twin, Presidential, and Wiley ranges, and bag three peaks on this challenging 20-mile out-and-back. Start out on the steep, forested Gale River Trail and cross several streams before reaching the Garfield Ridge Trail, which leads to the AMC’s Galehead Hut (3,780 ft.). Take the Twinway over .8 mile of trail to one of the best views of the Presidentials. You’ll descend through mixed forest, then climb out onto open rocks on the side of Guyot, just before the Twinway intersects the Bondcliff Trail, 2.8 miles from South Twin. Guyot campsite is .8 mile from this junction via the Bondcliff Trail and a spur (fees apply). Using this as a basecamp, you can climb the Bonds, three massive 4,000-footers along the Bondcliff Trail to the south.-Hike provided by the Appalachian Mountain Club
