Lake Mead to Close Two Trails for Summer
The Goldstrike Canyon and Arizona Hot Spring Trails will shut down on April 15 and May 15, respectively.

The first of two summer trail closures at Lake Mead goes into effect this Sunday, April 15. The Goldstrike Canyon Trail will be shut down until September 30; on May 15, the Arizona Hot Spring Trail will likewise close. The park started closing these two strenuous routes four years ago after visitor safety incidents spiked.
