The Chicago Park District has recently unveiled updates to its master plan for Jackson Park, which hasn’t been overhauled since 1999. The proposal includes improving the coastline of the park’s lagoons and creating more open green space. But community group Jackson Park Watch has challenged the plan, arguing that it ignores the effect of the future Obama Presidential Center, road construction, and the possible addition of a golf course.
