Holliston resident Brian Butler was hiking in the Douglas State Forest when he decided to track down the spot where Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island meet. He found it–and 35 to 40 more “tripoints” since then, plus four more in Canada. His most remote tripoint so far was the meeting point of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories, which required a journey on pavement, 260 miles of gravel road, a seaplane, and a hiking trail.
