Several local groups filed suit against Los Angeles this week for shutting down the Beachwood Drive gate to the popular Hollyridge Trail in Griffith Park to the Hollywood sign. The dispute began when a private ranch sued the city earlier this year, complaining hikers heading into Griffith Park were blocking its business, and the city shut down Beachwood Drive. The new plaintiffs argue the closure illegally undermines public access to the park.
