Be on the alert for giant hogweed this year, officials in multiple states warn: The 14-foot-tall, invasive plant’s sap can cause painful blisters, scarring, and blindness if it gets in the eye. Best line of defense: Don’t touch it. Giant hogweed has been found in New York, Washington, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and at least seven other states.
