Last week the Boxford Conservation Commission rejected a proposal to log trees and clear brush in the 318-acre Wildcat Conservation Area. Proponents of the plan had argued the work was necessary to prevent forest fires and improve access for emergency responders, but others stressed the need to protect wildlife and sensitive ecosystems within the preserve.
