Camera Traps Capture Rare Flying Squirrel in Chicago

A camera trap managed by the Urban Wildlife Institute recently caught a flying squirrel on film near Chicago’s Rosehill Cemetery, a rare sighting that’s believed to be the first for the project in about eight years. Of the three species of flying squirrel, only one lives in Illinois, and most are typically found in larger swaths of forest.
