Teen Falls to Death on Boulder's First Flatiron

A 17-year-old, climbing alone, tumbled 100 feet from one of Boulder's iconic rock formations.

In the first accidental climbing death in the Flatirons in nine years, a 17-year-old appears to have fallen from the First Flatiron after free-soloing the popular rock face. A hiker discovered the body above Blue Bell Shelter in Chautauqua Park.
