Nine Endangered Whales Pass Jekyll Island
The group of migrating North Atlantic Right whales was the largest spotted in years.

Biologists used to see more than 100 migrating North Atlantic Right whales swimming pass Jekyll Island in the 2000s, but the endangered mammals are a much rarer sight these days. Nine were seen about 30 miles off Jekyll Island last week, the largest group spotted in several years.
