Lyons’s Rabbit Mountain Open Space is about to become a lot less hospitable to its resident elk herd. Boulder County commissioners approved a plan to allow limited hunting there starting after Labor Day; officials will also try hazing and fence-building to encourage the elk to resume seasonal migrations rather than hanging out at Rabbit Mountain year-round.
