Drone Starts Wildfire North of Flagstaff
The flying machine ignited a blaze that burned 335 acres in the Coconino National Forest.

This week, Coconino National Forest officials reported that the cause of the Kendrick Fire north of Flagstaff was a drone that caught fire for unknown reasons.Â
Approximately 30 firefighters, along with engines and a water tender truck, turned up to battle the blaze, which ignited in dry grasses and spread across 335 acres before being contained. The drone operator reported the incident and was cited.
While drones are prohibited in National Parks, the Coconino National Forest doesn’t restrict them.
