Digital Ads May Be Coming to the Ski Lift Near You

Sensing a captive audience, Centennial, Colorado startup Alpine Media Technology and Colorado’s Winter Park Resort have signed a deal to bring the company’s digital ski lift bars to the SuperGauge chairlift next winter. The bars have screens that display ads, trail info, weather, and driving times back to Denver. (The partners have yet to obtain all necessary permits to add the screens, so skiers might have to wait longer than next season for the tech.) Massachusetts’s Wachusett Mountain Ski Area and Alpine Media Technology have also signed an agreement for a pilot program.
