Cougar Kills Dog on Trail in Kittitas County
The dog and its owner were walking along a trail around 8 pm when they encountered the big cat.

A Kittitas County woman out walking her dog on a trail last Monday evening ran into a cougar, which began fighting with her dog (it wasn’t on a leash). She ran to get help and returned with a friend who tried to shoot the cougar, scaring it away. The dog died as a result of its injuries.
