Want to get your backcountry soak on? Starting this April, you’ll need to book in advance. Conundrum Hot Springs, a popular hot spring and camping destination near Aspen which has drawn as many as 300 people a night in the past, will be reservation-only starting this summer.

Aspen-Sopris District Ranger Karen Schroyer told the Aspen Times that a maximum of 68 people will be allowed to stay at the hotspot in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass wilderness, with bookings opening up on April 18. Forest officials hope that the plan will reduce the environmental impact of visitors; they’re considering additional steps in the future, including requiring wag bags and moving campsites.
