The Divvy bike-share program has a long way to go in serving all of Chicago’s residents, recent studies discovered. Barriers cited by minority and low-income populations in the city included fears about personal safety, being able to afford the bike rental fee, and lack of knowledge about how the system works. Community groups are working on expanding use through outreach and education events.
