The Obama administration set aside two areas in the Northeast—Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument (130 miles off Cape Cod) and the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument (87,000 acres in Maine’s North Woods)—before he left office. But both of them may see significant changes under Trump: commercial fishing for one, and “active timber management” for the other.
