This winter in California has been unusually warm and dry–so much so that new temperature record highs have been set from San Francisco to LA. In the Sierra, the heat is melting snow at ski resorts and prompting some visitors to go hiking instead. Meteorologists expect extreme weather trends to become the new normal in California because of climate change.
