Alaska is a long way from Colorado, but that didn’t stop more than 100 state businesses from signing a petition urging lawmakers not to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The businesses cited both economic and environmental reasons to protect the Alaskan wilderness, which some worry is being targeted for energy production under the Trump administration.
