Boulder County Parks and Open Space recently introduced a proposal to allow e-bikes (bikes with an battery-powered motor option) on Open Space trails, drawing about 300 comments. Some argue it will encourage people to drive less and make parks more accessible for people without the fitness to bike steep trails; others counter that e-bikes are “cheating,” they pose an erosion threat to trails, and they might lead to conflict with other trail users.
