Endangered Atlantic Sturgeon Get New Protection

Atlantic sturgeon can live up to 60 years and grow as large as 14 feet long, but they still need us to lend a hand—they’ve been on the endangered species list since 2012. And they recently gained more protection from NOAA Fisheries, which designated seven Georgia rivers (the Savannah, Ogeechee, Oconee, Ocmulgee, Altamaha, Satilla and St. Marys) as critical habitat for the fish.
