Details: Join us on an overnight AT section hike. This backpacking trip begins in the town of Hanover, home of Dartmouth College. The trail passes ponds, streams and requires the use of a number of boardwalks and footbridges. Our first day begins with heavily wooded trail which turns into meadows and woods then climbs up the southern peak of Moose Mountain. Here we get some incredible views and reach Moose Mountain Shelter, our overnight destination. Days hike: 10.2 miles The following day’s hike is 6.6 miles and takes us into the town of Lyme, NH. The hike takes us up and over the Northern Peak of Moose Mountain, past some old beaver ponds, and up to Holts Ledge. We continue past the Trapper John Shelter to Grafton turnpike and Dorchester road to reach our cars. A car spot is required for this overnight hike.
