Appeals Court Backs Colorado Springs in Land Swap Deal
The judges upheld the city's public land trade with The Broadmoor hotel.

This week, the Colorado Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s ruling that Colorado Springs’s swap of the Strawberry Fields open space to The Broadmoor hotel did not require a public vote. The city traded 186 acres in North Cheyenne Canon Park and a parking lot near the Manitou Incline Trail for 400 acres of wilderness property, conservation easements, and 9 acres east of Bear Creek Regional Park.
