Aliso Canyon Reopens to Gas Injections

Despite Los Angeles County's efforts to keep the canyon closed, the natural gas operations in Aliso start up again.

For the first time since December 2015, Southern California Gas Company has resumed injections in Aliso Canyon to determine inventories of natural gas—despite safety objections from L.A. County. SoCalGas states that it has implemented several protective measures, such as repeated inspections and thermal imaging scans, to ensure no leaks occur.
