Unless you’ve been on Neptune for the past few years, by now you’ve heard that deer ticks carry Lyme disease. Here’s a new wrinkle, though: Studies in New Jersey have found that the coats of mice are the preferred stomping grounds of the deer tick. So if you really want to remain Lyme-free, carefully check yourself for ticks after camping in mouse havens like wooded areas and trail shelters.
