Every now and again, we come across a piece of gear that’s just so cool and different, we are immediately waylaid by gear lust. Snow Peak’s GigaPower 2Way Torch is the latest thing to get us hot under the collar. Behold, it looks like the kind of fire-belching exhaust pipe you’d see at a drag race.

But we immediately hit a problem: What in the heck are you supposed to use this thing for? We put our heads together and came up with a few scenarios that we might want an enormous, on-demand flame that even sounds dangerous. Here’s what we came up with:

Fire Test: Dry Your Socks, Melt a Frozen Waterbottle, Roast a Marshmallow

So, yeah, not so good. But we’re not ready to give up on it yet. We need ideas. If this thing came into your possession, what would you use it for? (We may just have one to give away to the best, most creative answer.)
