Digging your toes into the warm sands of Kalalau Beach is that much sweeter after the 11-mile trek to get there. You’ll ramble through five paradisiacal valleys en route. Spend night one in Hanakoa Valley (mile six) and stroll to 1,400-foot Hanakoa Falls. Hike five miles on day two to Kalalau, a mile-long beach bordered by sheer cliffs.Snack on wild mangoes, shower in waterfalls, and nod off to crashing waves. (Permits: $10/night per person.)
