Yosemite's Falls Near Peak Flow

If you’re a West-Coast weekend warrior or a super-hard road dog from elsewhere in the country, we’ve got marching orders for you: Get thee to Yosemite. Yosemite National Park’s famous waterfalls are bursting, flush with runoff from a particularly thick winter and spring snowpack. Best of all, the biggest crowds haven’t hit just yet, meaning you can take in the park’s famous falls without getting caught behind a Winnebago.
While intense runoff should last for the next several weeks, Bridalveil Fall, Yosemite Fall, Nevada Fall and Vernal Fall are already nearing peak output. While some roads are still closed, views to Bridalveil Fall, Vernal Fall, Silver Strand Falls, Ribbon Falls, Sentinel Fall, and Lower Yosemite Falls are accessible by road and trail. Since this is BACKPACKER, after all, we trust you’ll know which path to take (hint: not the car, dingus!).
