Sierra Designs contest lets you retrace the footsteps of BACKPACKER editors in wet and windy Wales

We’re happy that the Sierra Designs Lightning XT4 tent won a coveted Editors’ Choice Award this year, but they’re really going nuts: In honor of their achievement, Sierra Designs just launched a contest that allows you to follow the same path BACKPACKER editors hiked through the stunning Welsh backcountry.

In addition to an all-expenses-paid trip (Virgin Atlantic airfare, four nights in a B&B, rail passes), winners get a Lightning XT 4 tent, two Verde 20-degree sleeping bags, and Cyclone jacket and pants from Sierra Designs. You’ll then trace a path through three marquee national parks in Wales—the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Brecon Beacons, and Snowdonia National Park, which contains the highest mountain in Wales.

Visitors can choose when to go, and I’d strongly advise they avoid going in late fall/winter, unless they truly want to test their new schwag’s limits. Here’s why:
