Adventure films — especially the glossed-over, Discovery Channel kind — are so ripe for lampooning, it’s too bad we don’t see more spoofs of them. Then again, I doubt most of them would be as funny as Mark Odlum’s Parking Garage: Beyond The Limit. The short documentary chronicles Odlum’s harrowing attempt to climb the highest parking garage in town, which tops out at a dizzying 76 feet. While en route, he encounters high winds, carbon monoxide, and — oh hell, let’s just go to the tape:
“Morning. Day 41 at Camp 4, the highest and most inhospitable camp in the garage.”
Classic.
