In Aspen, CO a small bear wandered into Mark Richards Fine Outerwear (a.k.a a fur store) on Saturday night and posed in the window display for a fellow following him snapping pictures. The bear browsed the aisles and left without incident. Fox 31 KDVR.com reported that the Aspen police received 26 calls about bears in four days last week.
On Wednesday a bear in Southern California roamed the streets and took a dip in a swanky residential swimming pool which was caught on tape by a news helicopter. He climbed trees, hopped fences, rooted in trash bins, and absorbed rubber pellets until he “apparently,” (MercuryNews.com reported) clamored back into the wilderness (video below).

And here in BACKPACKER’s backyard a biscotti maker and his wife stepped out of their secluded house after a day of baking leaving blueberry yogurt-flavored biscotti and other test flavors for their company, Wally Biscotti, cooling in the kitchen. When they arrived home in the early evening the kitchen window was damaged and the biscotti samples devoured–not daintily. Officers called to the scene only found a stuffed bear and some scat, reported the Daily Camera.
